Ken Wilden took another step towards the 2009 Grand-Am KONI Sports Car Challenge Grand Sport championship Saturday, scoring a dominating victory at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course with Dean Martin in the No. 59 RehagenRacingProducts.com Ford Mustang GT.
Martin led the opening 41 circuits, pressured the entire time by pole winner Matt Bell and Bret Seafuse. The lead recycled back to Wilden on Lap 46, five laps after his pit stop, and he maintained a comfortable advantage the rest of the way.
“I wouldn’t say I was on cruise control, but I was really taking care of the car,” Martin said. “I was trying to stay consistent. We had a flawless race. We got out front and stayed out front. We also had a fantastic pit stop.”

Two years ago, Ken Wilden was making only his second start in one of Rehagen Racing’s Ford Mustang GTs in Grand-Am KONI Sports Car Challenge Grand Sport (GS) competition at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.
That weekend, the Oakville, Ontario driver earned his first career win with Dean Martin, and his second straight podium for Rehagen. In all, he grabbed three podiums in four starts for the Michigan-based team before moving on to other opportunities.

Wilden, Miller hope to stretch championship leads in sixth of 11 races
If Bret Seafuse and James Gue want to keep close to Ken Wilden in the Grand-Am KONI Sports Car Challenge Grand Sport (GS) point standings, they will have to do well in Friday’s TheGlen.com 200 at Watkins Glen International, the sixth of 11 races on the circuit.
The two-and-a-half hour race will take place at 4 p.m. ET Saturday and will feature the GS and Street Tuner classes, running the weekend in conjunction with the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Cask No. 16 race, the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen.

Wilden Extends Grand-Am KONI Challenge Grand Sport Point Lead in Saturday’s Victory at Mazda Raceway

(May 16, 2009) - Ken Wilden muscled his way into the lead on the final restart with 16 minutes remaining and held on to pace the final 11 circuits of Saturday’s 79-lap Verizon Festival of Speed, giving the No. 59 Rehagen Racing Ford Mustang GT co-driven by Dean Martin its first Grand-Am KONI Sports Car Challenge Grand Sport victory of the season at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.

DEARBORN, Mich., May 14, 2009 – For the second consecutive year, Ford Customer Service Division (FCSD) will join forces with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) to help raise funds and awareness for the disease through multiple initiatives within its NHRA Funny Car sponsorship program.
To kick off this partnership, JDRF children have one month to submit a design for the Motorcraft/Quick Lane Shelby Mustang Funny Car, driven by Bob Tasca III, to be featured on the car during the NHRA Nationals later this season.
